Got a test drive today

First one hit the local dealer today. Nice acceleration, I could live with it. Handling is surprisingly flat at lower speeds Road noise is present due to the ground clearance. Interior reminded me of my 2011 E350. I like the older vents controls better. Very comfortable but I had the seat on the lowest position and pretty far back. Love the exterior. Price was around $39K.

I think the road noise was due to the run-flat tires that are standard for the US models...kinda disappointed that they did that, tbh...run-flats are a pain in the you-know-what, and are only really useful in an emergency, where you also don't have time to change the tire or wait for a tow.

which in my wife's case is any time she has a flat. experience has proven that when my particular wife gets a flat on the highway, she's going to drive on that flat until she is (at least) not on the highway any more. If within a few miles of home, she'll just drive home as carefully as possible...and in this instance you can consider the rim as disposable as the tire.

With run flats she can come through the door, toss me the keys and say "I think there's something wrong with the car". followed by "how can that tire be flat, it's brand new?"

To which you can say "and that's why it's only flat on the bottom part"

I just test drove a 250 this morning. Conti RFTs and no spare. It was a little harsh over bumps but rode pretty well otherwise. I could live with the little 4 cylinder engine - can be pretty peppy in sport mode. But yeah I wish they had stuck with regular tires. Think it is a handsome little cute ute. Girls will like it.
