When it comes to discounts, the biggest factor seems to be the market you're in. I'd read the previous posts in this thread and see if anyone in your market (or close to it, assuming you're not willing to travel far) has chimed up about their discount. Then you'll have an idea of what your market supports.

Based on previous comments here, I don't think 7.8% is bad. Especially for a popular vehicle like the GLC. Could you do better? Maybe. Are you getting screwed? No. Not in my opinion, anyway.
Question is: Are you willing to work for more of a discount? (Walk out, haggle with other dealers, potentially drive some distance, etc.) How much is your time worth? Keep in mind that, in your case, each 1% off is ~$430 and based on what I've seen here any discount over 10% is pretty rare.

I picked up my new GLC today and got a deal very similar to aferber's.
European Delivery was considered, which I would like to do at some point in the future, but I would be faced with shipping time after delivery and adding the trip expense wouldn't save much.
I did the usual, sent emails, scoured the internet, walked out of a few dealerships. What I found was that inventory is very limited. The few cars equipped to my liking and my colors sold fast. Two days before New Years I went into one dealership, hoping to strike my deal of the year, and they only had one GLC in stock, everything else sold during the two weeks prior and there were only a few in the pipeline for the first quarter. I made a deal on the phone yesterday and picked it up today. I liked the color and it has a sport package, of which I've seen few under $50,000. I returned my GLK and drove away with a new GLC. It is a great car, many of its features I was unaware of and I'll enjoy the car for the next 3 years, hopefully.

Not a buyers market here in Austin, TX. Basically none to choose from and MB Austin not interested in a dealer transfer. Actually, very arrogant about the whole thing. Didn't seem interested in trying to sell us one so we walked. On Jan-4 we got ~4% in San Antonio (GLC300) P1. Houston should of had better discounts but were worse for some reason. Wife wanted Selenite Grey and so that reduced the number of available cars.
From my perspective your deal sounds good!

Where are you located? I think that can make a difference.

I believe that it does have to do with where you are located at as ArticWhiteZ51 mentioned, and of course how popular is the car. I personally got very lucky and got what I consider a great deal with my fully loaded 2017 GMC 43 AMG (pkg. 3, advance parking assist, HUD, Pano), I was actually going in that day to custom order my car, but this car was about a 97% match to what I was planning to custom order. I would have wanted black leather/ash wood interior as opposed to beige/linden wood, and I also was set on getting ventilated seats, I also did not (and still do not) care for the running boards on the side, other than the mentioned, it was an exact match for everything else.
However, I am pretty sure I got a great deal because (1) It was a custom order reject that the dealer was just trying to get rid of (most folks who want to buy at that price point would most likely customer it to their exact likings and wait for their custom order, and not just buy something off the lot); (2) End of the year, and I am sure my SA was trying to end his year on a high note; (3) I went with another friend who bought the same day, so our SA was willing to work with both of us to make it both deals happen.
However, I believe that my SA would eventually work on getting me a great deal even without my friend buying that same day. He was one of the nicest SA I have ever met and willing to help get me a great deal. Anyone in San Diego/SoCA area who is interested in buying, feel free to PM me, and I can share my SA's info.

I'm new to the forum but in my search for a GLC43 discounts are few and far between. I'm presently about to pull the trigger on a GLC43 500 miles away because of my local (SF Bay Area) dealers unwillingness to sell below MSRP. MB USA has also done a price increase on GLC43 model this week, the one I'm buying is MSRP at original pricing of $54.9K with the base pricing increase to $55,825 this week, I'm not going to special order my GLC43. I'll give more details after unit is secured for me to purchase. In my area it seems no one is willing to deal on units presently in inventory. I also feel the GLC43 may be in for some depreciation if and when the GLC63 is released but, even if the 2 AMG units were avalible, I'd go with the V6.

Recently brought a 2017 glc300 suv at 10.4% off of MSRP from Downtown LA Motors Mercedes (Claire Skinner cskinner@dtlamotors.com and Henry Villarreal hvillarreal@dtlamotors.com). Very pleasant buying experience.

Went to Mercedes of Arlington in a Arlington, Virginia. Wanted to purchase a GLC43. There wasn't one in stock however I could have made a build and received it by March/April. MSRP of the build came out to 69k and change. They were willing to do 3K off MSRP. I know there aren't any incentives on the car yet however wanted to know if anyone else had any luck getting a better deal on a 43. Please let me know what you were able to get and where at. Appreciate the help in advance. Ready to move over from turd BMW's to MB. My 15 335i was a pain in the *** to drive. Really fun car but extremely uncomfortable.

I have been soliciting quotes from dealers in Dallas, TX area to custom order a GLC300 SUV. Diamond White, Saddle Brown Leather, Premium 2 package, LED lights, heated/ventilated seats, Burmester Surround. MSRP $50,170. Out of 5 dealers contacted by email Dealer 1 responded with 1.5%; Dealer 2 with 3%; Dealer 3 with 5.08% discount from MSRP. Dealers 4 & 5 have not responded yet. I did discover that wife's work has MB USA fleet incentive available of $500 on GLC, so there is another 1%. I did contact Bret @ mb Austin on the extended warranty and ppm and asked them to provide a quote on the vehicle as well. I would like to get to 7% off not counting the $500 from MB usa for this order.

MB Austin responded with "MSRP" on several GLC300's in stock several weeks ago when requesting through email. What a joke..... they even told us "two cars just came in, come in and check them out". When we get there "oh, sorry that was a mistake, we don't actually have those ". We'll never buy from them.
MB San Antonio may be worth checking out. They were cheaper than Houston (West?) for us (in stock vehicle).

fwiw, the most recent deal i got is just shy of 8.5% off. not quite as good as 10% off on the previously ordered glc from the same salesperson at the same dealership. unfortunately, the first car was totaled. we're expecting delivery sometime early next week.

I also see some posters telling of vast discounts on GLCs but, no details....I have to think many were made on 2016 models after the 2017s started arriving....anyone saying they are getting a 2017 GLC43 for 10% off MSRP....I'm not believing that...maybe there are discounted GLC300s to be had but around my area even the 300s aren't being discounted....when a Ford Explorer is stickered at over $50K....the Benz dealers are already underselling many competitors. I contacted a few dealers across the USA in my search for a GLC43 and even the dealers with multiple units in stock weren't interested in selling for below MSRP. I did have some dealers willing to make deals on a special order but based on the recent price increase, I nailed down the deal I was offered and have no regrets about deal at this point...went smoothly and no BS....I feel I was offered a fair discount right off the bat.

Pulled the trigger today on a custom order GLC300 RWD.. Diamond White,Saddle Brown Leather, Walnut Burl Trim, MB Tex Covered Dashboard, Premium 2, Heated/Ventilated Seats, LED lights, Burmester Sound, Wheel Locking Bolts. MSRP $50,310 Selling Price $47,622. That's 5.34% off a custom order. Also have a MB-USA $500 incentive to add to that at delivery. Bringing the discount up to 6.336%. Have a production date of 1st week of March. Estimated Delivery date of 1st week of April.
This forum has been helpful in my quest for the best price. Very hard here in Texas to get much discount on a custom order. Currently have a 1999 SLK-230 Sport with 124,000 miles on it that was bought new. The dealer that we bought that from would only go 2% on ordering the GLC. I guess I am not the kind of customer they deal with now. So, off to a new dealer to establish a relationship with.

I received a 10 percent discount on 17 300 GLC 4matic. Ordered in August received car 3 weeks ago. Once this car got SUV of the year award 10 percent went bye bye. SA told me 10 percent discounts are gone for now. They'll be back for 17 models when 18 models come out
GLC 43 he was giving me 5 maybe 6 (if I pushed) percent off to order one when they started to come out. But sticked with fully loaded 300 and I'm happy.
