The motor idea sort of makes sense doesnt it, but still it is a bit odd. If it was a simple mechanical fault like that you would think they would issue a service bulletin on the subject and fix them "at the next service"...what they usually do for non-recall faults they decide to proactively fix. When I say "they" I have had that happen with Audi and BMW

2018 Mercedes Benz s63 amg
Hi Guys, purchased a 2015 CLS 63 AMG in Jan this year and experiencing the noisy wiper blade situation, have revisited the selling dealer 3 times, having the blades replaced & screen polished, still not happy. My wife's 2015 Benz A45 AMG no problems, has a different style of blade. Mercedes Benz needs to rectify this problem sooner than later!

They claim the jutter is due to a dirty windshield which I don't believe as I have 2 other cars parked in the same location with no issues. They also replaced the wipers while it was raining and I made it 10 feet out of their service bay before the issue came back. At that point the windshield was clean and the wipers are new.

I'll post any updates I get. So far I've been dealing with this for 3 months and I'm glad to know I'm not alone.
I believe the wiper material changed. On my 2013 C300 the wipers were amazedly quite, then the dealer change them. They were noisy from then on. 2016 GLC has the same sound at the top of the sweep.

Windscreen wipers slightly noisy when they hit the top of the sweep - but I can live with that.

What I can't live with though is that the windscreen jet wash on the front doesn't work. I can spray that back window but when I push the button in on the stalk of the wipers it just moves the wipers and no water comes out. I assume that's how you're supposed to spray the front windscreen??

Did you push it in all the way? The first push I think acts like a mist sweep. Push it all the way and the sprays come on.

You star! You saved me not only the trip to the car doctors but also the embarrassment when they showed me how to do it! For some reason, if you press the button a little way, the wipers go but no water comes out. If you press it down further the water comes out - fixed

Use the button on the end of the stock for spray.

Glc300 wiper juddering issue on slow speed

Recently got a glc300 and realized the juddering issue is very much there, just wanted to know the general consensus here, are people paying to get their wipers replaced/ other fix done or is it covered in the warranty, seeing how people have been living with these problems for a few months what's the best recourse

Your juddering wipers should be covered under warranty.

My GLC doesn't have this problem, however, the squawk is somewhat common both in the US and Australia.

Don't believe M-B has found a good fix.

Fix for the Shuttering windshield wipers ...............

has anyone gotten a definitive fix for the chuttering/shuttering windshield wipers? A tad bit ridiculous in a car of this class or era i would say.

another unhappy mb owner from under under. this time in Auckland, New Zealand. Bought GLC250d with UHD (someone mentioned the glass could be of different material...) September 2016. It has very annoying noisy windscreen wipers (also the back). Its squeaky sound makes all my hairs stand up. brought it to coutts newmarket, local mercedes benz dealer, they told me the sound is just normal. I am taking it back again today to get someone checked it properly. has anyone has definite solution to the noise, replacing wiper motor?

For what its worth. I took my GLC 300 in for its first A service last week. They replaced both front and rear wipers without any input from me. I am in SOCAL. I've used those front wipers maybe a half dozen times and never used the rear wiper.

Maybe it is part of the A service. I don't know.

But maybe MB knows there is an issue?

do you have prepaid maintenance through MB? If so, all the new plans include wiper blades.

3rd visit, no joy................

just back from 3rd visit to address the shuttering issue on 2016 glc300. this last visit was a different dealer...adjusted arms, cleaned windshield, in two hours when it rained it was horrible. blades skipping accross windscreen, but primarily during good rains, not light rains.

have done the rubbing alcohol, replaced blades twice, etc

running out of thoughts...

well, clearly cleaning the windshield, wipers, polish etc is not the solution, as the root of the problem is on the wiper's motor. so you can stop scrubbing, polishing and cleaning your windshield or you'll scratch the glass. It seems to be MB factory/quality control problem. it's very disappointing coming from a luxury car brand. This'd better not happen when we pick up our GLC300, because we will refuse possession of the vehicle, until issue is addressed and fixed.

So how can you definitively say its the wiper motors?

It's 100% not the motors. It is from the wipers dragging and skipping. The windshield needs to be cleaned properly, which is a very specific process. If it is not followed precisely, it will not be effective at all

Also, if you have tried polishing using anything other than the mb cleaning kit and as directed, the windshield may be damaged irreversibly in which case the problem will never be rectified unless you replace the glass.

You may be right.... I didn't have any problems with the wipers dragging. I recently cleaned my windshield with Invisible Glass (I think it might be acetone based.) and I've had some, though not terrible skipping. Not all the time, but a bit anway.

That's the. Biggest load of horse crap I've heard. I'm driving a brand new 2017 GLC300 loaner with 47 miles. I can see the wipers studders already.
How is it that the weather affects MB cars more than any others ? Clean the windshield with MB approved solution?! Total BS. I have driven 10 different cars in the last 2 years and Never experienced this problem. Never cleaned the windshield either. I don't think the rain falls differently. No excuses MB needs to fix it.

Another 2017 GLC300 owner with studdering wipers. Vehicle is one week old and first rain was today. Shuddering in both light and heavy rain. Very disappointing. My dealer and MB USA will hear about it. I hope they can correct this.
