Aftermarket Parktronic Sensors (front & back)

Wish I'd gotten Parktronic in my GLE SUV afterall.. so I want to install some aftermarket parking sensors - any advice? Things to avoid outright?

Not able to install. Will need to trade. Very costly. Would drive as is.

OK, installing sensors is not THAT big of a deal guys - is this the best you've got? I did this to my last VW and it wasn't like it was a crazy-expensive project (compared to the 3k for Parktronic anyhow).
I've got a couple of bids here in the Bay Area for @ 1k.

It shouldn't void the whole warranty, only the portion that would be impacted by the parktronic. For example, warranty for the engine or exhaust should not be impacted.

Yeah, ok, that makes a lot more sense. And given I didn't get Parktronic, it seems like adding sensors wouldn't void anything relevant. I found a shop that does this for the MB dealer out here and it's not too too expensive, but man, I wish I'd have just bought the option initially ;0

its not going to look as good as oem. OEM is integrated into the number. you're going to have this knobs sticking out an color will not match. I would'nt do it. just go without it.

Get it in writing that it will not void or hurt the warranty. Ask someone in an email and when they respond, you have it in writing. Hopefully they will answer the question though.
Good luck.

2016 GLE350 4MATIC
Hi,

The day before signing the lease and taking delivery of my GLE350 which did not come with the Parking Assist package, I sat down with the Sales Manager and he was going through all the options I could add. Wheel/Tire insurance, LoJack, pre-paid maintenance, tinted windows and Parktronic sensors. So I assume that they are capable of installing the Parktronic sensors alone (without adding the entire Parking Assist package). I believe it was around $900+ and if you check mbusa.com, there is actually a Parktronic with active parking assist option for $970.

Yeah if your order it from the factory with that option alone. This will not be the factory option guaranteed. Ask them to show you and you see these cheap likely black aftermarket buttons
