On my 2016 GLE 350 I couldn't figure out why I was getting an alert, like when a vehicle is stopped in front of you while your moving, but then realized it was happening when I received a text message on my Iphone 5s.

Wondering if the system is designed this way? Others getting this alert too?

If they activate text and activate text alert - yes.

yup. i've given up on command interface to my phone (S5). i stopped everything but the phone connection. i use Car Mode on the S5 and it does switch to the MB when using a phone. texts go right thru the S5. ron
