Rear Window Defroster Anomaly? - GLE43 Coupe
I just noticed three areas of concern on the inner surface of the rear window defroster strips. It looks like "breaks" in the strips. The breaks are asymmetrical, from the left side of the window to the right. Upon further examination at 100% magnification, the edges where the strips separate are "rounded". This leads me to believe they are normal, as an actual break would likely have a straight or jagged edge.
Can GLE43/63 Coupe owners check their rear windows to confirm this is normal? Thanks!

yeah, freaked me out at first too. after looking closely (as you did) came to the conclusion it's a circuit. didn't even bother checking with service and you confirm my belief. i'm used to seeing the ones that run from side to side, contacts at each side. another fine example of German engineering, just like the bat signals (as some who read my posts may tell by now that they are a pet peeve of mine ) ron

It's the aerial for the radio. On my w205 the top 4 rows don't heat they are aerials for the radio. There is gaps on vert vertical and horizontal lines

We had a '06 E320, and the some of the lines in that rear glass were for the keyfob lock/unlock. I don't know if that's still true on today's models...
