Thank you for the info. I use USAA, and I did not even know they had an auto buying service. I priced it on there, and it looks like it will save at least $4,000 off of MSRP. Fantastic. Thank you! I just need to leave my wife then I'll buy the vehicle!

like to own GLK 350 4Matic
Good deal or not?

I'm thinking of buying in the US for a used GLK 350 4matic with Premium 1 package, Sports package, iPod connection and trailer hitch. The dealer price is $33,000USD. It has 21,000 miles and in service date is Feb. 2009. Do you think this is a good price? Here in canada, the prices are $43,500 for a comparable model.
Mercedes Canada need to certify this which costs $2,740 plus an additional $500.

Is it worth buying in the US with this price difference?

Seems average. About 10% a year depreciation as those options probably stickered for arount $42K to $43K. It's two years old with average to a bit below average miles.

I paid $35.5K for a brand new one, but it didn't have all the adds and it's not a 4matic.

BTW, what is a 'sports package'? And why does Canada have to 'certify' it? Sounds more like a governement fee or duty or something. What a ripoff.

I guess it depends on what you are willing to spend. For $43,500 CAN I would assume that you are buying a new vehicle. In your other post you were asking the same question and the vehicle had 28,000 Km. Thats over the top for a used vehicle. It's a no brainer buy the car in the US.

I am in New Jersey, car was in Mich. cost me $350.00 to ship and
595.00 to MB financial to transfer the lease. Go to swapalease. com
and be patient. You will find a deal. I've done it twice already. In this
economy a lot of people have taken on leases they no longer can afford.

In my experience with MB, a 3rd model year at this time would generally get discounted at 10%-11%, if you push very very hard, you may get 12% off sticker, depending on model of car and region. So you got a pretty good deal, I picked up mine before XMas at 11% off sticker. For comparison, it is a 2011 4Matic in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Wife is loving the car. We ended up getting another $500 off so PP was $38,525 (~11% off sticker) and ran through MB finance at 1.6% for 36 months. They delivered it on January 2nd which allowed them to claim the sale in the 2010 sales year.
