I want to switch GLK steering wheels...

I saw this on eBay and wondered if anyone has done this? I did my last car and it was easy, just wanted to know if anyone has attempted it on a GLK.

Since the horn/controls/airbag module just transfers over it looks pretty straight-forward.

Did you use this same wheel on your last car?

In addition to airbag detonation I would worry about messages that would require the star tool to reset. I don't know but I m thinking once the wheel is removed the system is interrupted and a signal is sent to the computer?

Nope. I just tried a dry run... Disconnect the battery ground, two torx in the back of the wheel, two plugs for the control/air bag, one big nut in the center. Assemble in reverse order - it was easy... No codes, no hassles... I wanted to see if mine was like the picture and it is exactly the same... it took 10 minutes, if that...

Yeah, steering wheels should be easy, but with all the electronics and safely stuff it's understandable that you'd be cautious.

Yes, the one in this picture will not take the GLK airbag and control module but they do make one to order.

I don't agree; I prefer the full leather of the OP's and I really like the flat bottom.

I'm a cyclist so I've had it up to here with CF...

Someone posted pix and a link to this wheel just recently here on the GLK forum, but now it appears it's gone!
