Okay I've changed my mind; the black rims look way better. I'm not usually a fan of blacked-out lights but they look great here. I can stare at the side view all day.

Great job.

Can I ask, how much did everything cost from stock to what you have now?

...and that is all that matters.

My GF just picked up a black 2012 which I am hoping I can resist modding. My BMW already has more than I should have.

Removing Emblem from Hatch

I love the black on black on your wife's GLK. My project over the year. However my mercedes emblem cracked this weekend and when I went to remove it I saw the center piece in locked in. How did you get this off?

Thank you

H&R springs

Mr JLT, love your glk!!! I've looked into lowering my glk as well, but they say they don't make springs for 4matic? How did u make yours work? Do you think the strut bar makes a noticeable difference? Here's a pic of my GLK

weet looking ride, probably the best glk I've seen.
How much did the hre's cost you if you don't mind me asking and how low did you go with the springs, cause I've got 18's for the winter and want to get 22's or 20's and lower it for the wheel gap. My issue is if I lower it and in the winter put the 18's on will it sit lower then the summer setup

Can you please share what coatings you have on top of the paint to make it shine like that?

I buff it with 3m perfect it 3 or 4 times a year. I use eagle one wax or zymol and use eagle one or turtle wax as you dry. And it spends every night in the garage

Amg calipers that fit GLKs

Hey there, did you manage finding which AMG calipers are direct bolt ons to the GLK? Dont they have same spindle fittings as the C class ones?

JLT,

Have you had any problems in front with the 265s?
I want to get 265/45x20...don't know if it will rub?

The fronts are 255/35/20

If your GLK is lowered I'm not sure if a 265/45/20 would work.

Kudos for an amazing job. I hope you can answer a couple of questions.

The chrome trim on the doors, is that stuck on with adhesive or what? How do you get them off?

Same with the badges etc. at the back. Are they just stuck on? Remover with dental floss??

Again - great job. I envy your skills, I would have buggered it up if I had tried to do half of what you've done.

Cheers, Les

Yes the chrome trim had double sided tape on it. I used a heat gun and an eraser wheels to get the glue residue off then buffed it with 3m perfect it. I used a small flat head screw driver to get the chrome strip corner off 1st. then I just used my fingers.

The rest of the chrome around the windows I paint matched

Badges on the back are the same except for the Mercedes emblem it has 3 grommets that it slides into, if you remove the badge just go 3 new grommets from Mercedes cause they break easy so does the emblem.

FYI, yesterday I confirmed the E63 AMG brackets match my GLK front caliper fiting holes, seems only the offset slightly different may require longer bolts with spacers.... Further updates to ve posted soon
