GLK350 Battery Group Size? (Part # A0009823208)
Does anyone know what the group size / dimensions are of the stock GLK350 battery (part a0009823208)?
My battery is about to bite the dust and I would like to replace it with a (stronger) AGM battery (I believe the OEM benz battery is Gel/wet). Can't seem to find the dimensions of the current battery online though.
Thanks

Apparently it is a 48 series battery.

To close the loop here - I was able to find an exact match AGM battery. It is a Bosch S6, part number S6587B. The dimensions are listed as 315mm x 175mm x 175mm for the OEM battery. The S6587B is listed as 315mm x 175mm x 190mm.
When the battery arrived it was an exact match to the OEM flooded battery - so the dimensions are listed wrong on the S6 (or just measured differently - I can't tell from the spec diagram).
There is a lot of wrong information on the net about GLK batteries. Even stopped into Canadian Tire and they gave me a clearly wrong battery size (as listed in their computer - it wouldn't have even fit an E-Class).
The battery is a BCI Group L4/H7.

The OEM battery is an AGM battery not a flooded or a gel cell. AGM batteries have a greater capacity for the same size and weight and are "spillproof" but more expensive
They are sensitive to overcharging and need a charging circuit designed for their characteristics. The GLK has this. Mercedes has used AGM batteries for 15 years now. My W210 had an AGM battery as the OEM battery 15 years ago.

As others said, many catalogs call out the wrong battery for the GLK. Autozone catalog suggests size H6, which is too short. H7 is the correct size. I bought the H7-AGM from Autozone yesterday, it fits perfectly and has the holes for the vent tube.

Not sure this is quite right

One of the most important factors for choosing a replacement battery on basically all new cars is not CCA or brand but, Reserve Capacity and/or Ah. New cars have many computers that take a while to shut down after you get out of the car and some may even turn on momentarily to run tests or do random checks while you are away from the car. You need to make sure your battery will hold its charge for all of this and still be able to start your car in the morning. Typically, this is not a problem with new batteries but, age will separate the right battery from a cheaper alternative. Usually, I will try to best match what the manufacturer installed. Meaning if they used an AGM I will use and AGM. As far as I know, no manufacturers use a gel type battery from the factory. There may be a few exceptions but, generally speaking it wont be a car you drive every day to work.
