And it's still spelled "brake"...

I don't have to double tap anything. When I'm on a hill, I just release the brake pedal and the car will not roll anywhere for 2-3 seconds giving me time to push gas. On some other MB's you just push brake pedal hard to engage hill start. If you really have to double tap the brake on new Mb's it's really annoying.

F that...and what do you do when your car won't go in park or in drive, because of electronic gremlins?

One of the reasons I'm keeping my 2010 is because of the "new" features mandated by safety and environmental laws for idiots who don't put car in park or push on gas and sue for "sudden acceleration".

The hold function (pressing the brake down after stopped) doesn't work on my 2010 GLK350. May have to try on an incline, but using the same technique that works on a 2012 C300 has no effect on my GLK.

On the '10 GLK there are two stalks on the left side of the steering column. One is the directional and the other is for the cruise control. Did you know if you if you push the CC stick up to the first detente it will increase by one mile PH. If you push up to the second detente it will increase to the next 5 MPH speed (ex. 57 to 60 or 55 to 60). The same applies to slowing down when you push down on the stick. The best part is when you slow down by 5 MPH increments it will put the brakes on and your tail lights also go on to let the person behind you know. I assume the newer models also do that.

2014 GLK 350 with premium package-- you can program your right side mirror to point down so you can see the curb every time you switch to reverse. Helpful when parallel parking and you don't have the rearview camera. When you switch off from reverse, the mirror goes back to it's original position.

I tried without any success. I also called my dealer and I was told I cant do that without other package (sadly I don't remember now).
Could you please provide exact steps on how you did it.
I find this feature very useful.
Thanks!

FYI, this also works in the pre-2014 US models as well. I have a 2011. When in reverse, select the passenger side mirror. Now adjust it to point all the way down. For paranoia's sake, I always choose to save to memory when making adjustments but I don't know if this is required. Now when backing up either the passenger side or the driver side _program_ will be selected based on the one you left it at last, just take a look at it. You might choose the driver side _program_ for those times when you are backing up but don't want the passenger mirror moving.

Do you have memory buttons for seats? If yes, then you have a Convenience package and if I am not mistaken with such a package mirror in Reverse does work. Please note that I have only Premium package.

My Infinity G37 has memory seats that are keyed to each remote, so when I unlock the door the seats automatically move to my pre-set position.

Beats the crap out of having to hold the button down...

My wife's 2007 Lexus ES350 does the seats, steering wheel and mirrors for both fobs. And BTW Push to Start was standard on her car.

2014 GLK 250 BlueTEC
Lol, both vehicles are second tier knockoffs from toyota and nissan. You can currently get topped up genesis that will have all the same features as S class and will even look very close to S class for about $150K less...
Yet it is a god damn hundai...

To both of you guys, when i bought my 2012 STI, i remember thinking that my old 1994 540i had everything automatic, leather and heated - while the STI comes with manual seats, terrible finishes and overall just plasticky look... With the same engine output on top of that... great progress for ~15 years?
Not going back to that...

while on the MB website trying to figure out how to program the garage door opener, I learned that double tapping the unlock button quickly (and holding the button down on the second tap), will roll all 4 windows down and open the sunroof.

... and holding down the Lock button will roll up all the windows. You have to be on the driver side as the IR sensor is on the driver side front door handle.

The window feature is annoying - on my VW I can do this from anywhere within range, I don't need to point it at an IR sensor like the GLK.

Mercedes used to have that feature. But when it came down to having multiple keys this feature becomes more of a nuisance if you don't have a way of distinguishing your keys especially if you're that couple that throws their keys in the same bucket at home.

I'm kind of annoyed that they no longer have the IR sensor on both sides of the car like they used to in earlier Smartkey vehicles. My 2000 C280 had it on both sides.

BTW, if you bought a Caddy you don't get to make fun of anything...

No offense, but that's the lamest excuse I've ever heard for dropping a useful feature.

My keys are different than my wife's, but we don't attach our car keys to our key rings because we often swap cars.

On the Infiniti fobs we just attach different doobobs and we can tell the difference; maybe the MB engineers will figure this one out soon...

Haha or maybe the driver won't figure it out. features like this are probably taken away based on the lack of popularity of the feature, costs of an unpopular feature or the lack of driver awareness that it exists. Unfortunately for me my vehicle was a model year after that feature was taken away from my vehicle model. In my case it wouldn't make a difference because I'm the only driver of my vehicle.

I cannot imagine memory key fobs adding much to cost, but I'm wrong all the time.

Being the only driver does make a difference; I never even thought about memory seats until I got married...

I believe that's only true if you're in the "S" mode, I tried it the other day in "E" mode and it rolled back!

Magic Toaster Oven
If you unlock the car and don't open any of the doors, the car will automatically re-lock itself after a certain amount of time.

Windows are also magical and won't crush your hand/arm when you leave it in and use the auto close feature.
