It is a roof rack system, kind of like Thule is. Seems to be less bulky then Thule, more aerodynamic and with cooler solutions. Also more expensive (just from their website prices).

I'm not sure why the photos got uploaded that way! They looked OK on my computer . . . .

I haven't had a chance to drive on the highway yet to see if it adds a lot of wind noise. I did cruise around surface streets at 45-50, and with the HVAC turned off, I don't think I could hear them, so that's good.

I also checked to make sure our old Thule box fits, and it does.

I went with a place called ORS Rack Direct. It was $400 with free shipping. I think cheaper than the OEM MB bars? I didn't like the look of the Benz bars at all.

Do they get in the way when you open the sunroof? Seems to be a complaint when people install them on certain vehicles.

I haven't tried but there was someone else who posted a year ago who said no problems.

Those do look sick! Nice and clean.

What wheels do you have on your GLK?

Thanks! Got the wheels off eBay --

Dealer said they were the best amg knockoffs he's seen. I had the seller give me the same offsets for front and back.

I'm really pleased with these wheels. They do require longer lag bolts. I wanted 19 inchers so ride quality wouldn't suffer.

Nope. I have the same bars, and the sunroof is fully operational: slide, tilt.

Bonus with these bars is how quiet they are at speed.

For ORS Racks Direct: Really good prices. I bought mine there too.
Use the coupon EXTRA10 or YAK10 at checkout for additional 10% off.

Is there any chance you have a photo with the Thule box mounted and the sunroof open? I am concerned about clearance, considering the clamps extend below the cross bars a bit.

Sadly, the Thule box is off the vehicle until we go back to Arizona in November. I'm not sure why, though, you'd want to have the sunroof open with the Thule box on? The Thule contributes quite a box of wind noise -- so much so, we closed the interior moonroof/sunroof screen, and wished it was a solid material and not mesh.

I still have the bars on the vehicle, and can confirm that the sunroof clears.

mikedr: did you ever get a chance to take a picture of your setup with the moonroof open w/ or w/out the Thule box?

The crossbars affect gas mileage a small amount. Don't like leaving them on unless I need them.
