Thumbs up **Just bought a New 2014 GLK**

Bought a GLK tonight

Here are the deal specs (just got home from the dealer and am picking it up tomorrow night after work and after they detail it):

2014 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class GLK350 SUV

MSRP: $50,805 Invoice: $47,315 Purchase Price: $41,705 MSRP Discount: 17.9%

+ sales tax

Options:

- Designo Diamond White Metallic Paint
- AMG Sport Package (20" AMG Wheels, Front Rear AMG Bumpers, Aluminum Roof Rails)
- Premium 1 Package
- Multimedia Package
- Lane Tracking Package
- Heated Front Seats
- Interior Ambient Lighting Package
- KEYLESS-GO

Additional Fees:
- $80 document fee
- $17.60 Electronic vehicle registration
- $271 Vehicle License Fee
- $81 Registration/Transfer/Titling Fees
- $8.75 California Tire Fees
- $20 Smog Abatement Fee
Total Fees: $478.35

Using a 1.25% loan rate from a credit union and able to negotiate a solid MSRP discount, it made more sense to buy since we always keep our cars for a long time.

I always think of the "what-ifs" had I "walked" (a second time - ended up buying after "walking" the first time tonight) to try to squeeze that extra $500-$1000 out of the dealer. 20% MSRP discount was my target. I got 17.9% which was solid.

There is always someone out there that gets a better deal.

I love that I got the rare diamond white metallic paint but damn, is it really worth the $1515 MSRP premium?! LOL

What do you guys think?! Excited to be back in the forums and starting to think about my first mods!!!

You can see I got a little obsessive a few years ago with my C class

Hope I get at least 1 year before it looks like the older GLK model on the road

Beautiful car love the lines and the size of this SUV

Love to be driving the upgraded 350 engine that I dont have in my 2008 c350

Ya there were some incentives involved but they never disclosed the number

Also helped that the 2015s are starting to arrive

Emailed about 10 different dealers and negotiated only through text and emails, didn't answer any of their phone calls .

Average discount was around 13-14%

A couple had 17-18% after a few back and forth through text and email

Finally came into a dealer with a lesser optioned car in mind (45k MSRP) after they gave me the 18%

Once I was there I saw a nicer one and Wanted the same discount applied to a 50k MSRP car - they played hardball but after I walked they sat me back down and matched the 18%

Their excuse was that the higher optioned cars are more rare and that people are willing to pay more so there was no way to match the discount on the lower optioned one. I shot for 20% because in my experience, I thought the more you spend, the better opportunity for Better % off deals. They said otherwise, but in the end, eventually met the 18% they offered on the other car though

The sales person also said they needed to meet quota for month end, so tht may have helped too

Great deal on the vehicle on the dealer's lot.
I think it's very hard to get such a discount for a Factory Order or ED. I was happy with 11% off MSRP for my ED 2014 GLK250 with options I wanted.

Congrats on the new GLK. Looks like a very solid deal. I agree with you on the diamond white paint also. While it does look very nice, is it really worth $1500 extra for it? Nevertheless, it is a very common color for the upscale MB models, so definitely your car is well optioned and sort of rare for the GLK.

Congrats again!

Where are you located? I am looking at purchasing a 2014 GLK 350 this month and doubt I could swing this kind of deal in my area.

Southern California Dealers seem to be around 15-18% off

Hi rb23lb,
Can you PM your dealer details? I'm in the market for GLK350 as well and I live in Sunnyvale, CA.

Haven't done the math re MSRP, but my dealer offers as a general rule 2% over invoice. I am a lawyerly type, so got an extra $2500 off that as an ABA member.

Hi guys sorry to revive this old-ish thread. I was wondering where the OP went for this deal? I am trying to get my parents into a glk but with no luck on deals like this. We are located in SoCal. Please let me know if there any dealers you would recommend who can help me out. Thanks in advance

You should be able to negotiate down to ~$3.5k below invoice on '14 GLKs with pretty much any Los Angeles dealer right now. It used to be ~$4k, but MB reduced their incentives this month.

The biggest problem is finding a dealer with a color/option layout that you want in their inventory. I was able to get a base GLK250 with metallitic + becker for $4,215 below invoice. If you'd like, shoot me a PM and I can get you in touch with my CA.

Congrats on the great deal on your GLK250! Yeah, heard MB reduced their incentives on the GLKs this month (something like $250-$500 less than in July). Strange that they did that considering that there are still 2014s on the lot and the 2015s are here. Hopefully, they may increase the incentives for September to clear out the 2014s for good. After that, support for the 2015s should start to trickle in, and expect great deals as usual for the holiday season (Nov/Dec).

I just received a quote for $7,200 off MSRP on 2014 bluetec here in the bay area, but the car has very little upgrade options (lane tracking, upgraded sound and thats it...really!).

Grrrr, why is life so difficult! Anyone else getting any luck?

This sounds like a great deal as the diesels usually sell for higher, and they also retain value better than their gas counterparts. What is the MSRP of this car? Curious to see what % off MSRP you're getting. Nevertheless, it seems like a great deal to me.

There are tons of fully loaded '14 GLKs in LA (local dealer even has one almost topping $60k with just about every single package/option) and if you have that quote in writing you shouldn't have any trouble getting any dealer here to match. Even if you don't, you still have a good chance of negotiating $3500 or more below invoice, especially for a fully loaded out vehicle. It'll cost you ~$300 in fare + gas to fly down here and drive back up, but if you're really set on a well equipped GLK it might be worth it. You might even be able to negotiate them down further to cover that $300.

The MSRP is 48525, so it ends up being right at 15%. If I'm going to buy a car that doesn't have all the options I want, then I want a 17-18% markdown. I know its possible just got to be patient. Thanks alexkhane for the tips, do you have a specific dealer you recommend down in Socal? PM me if you can please. Thanks all!

Great suggestion. That is what I had recommended to buckeyesoldier as well (going to SoCal and getting one there). It seems that the dealers down there usually have more inventory, more competition, and are thus more willing to deal.
