6x12 Uhaul Trailer attached to my 2013 GLK 4Matic road trip
Drove from San Francisco to Vancouver BC. Trailer weight (Uhaul 6x12) was 1500 lbs and cargo weight was around 1500 lbs.
We left SF around 12pm and car camped about 1.5 hours outside of California on the Oregon side. The next morning, it started raining slightly and woke us up around 7am (we didn't have a rainfly on). After a long hot shower (non coin operated in Oregon!!) we took off at 8am and arrived in Portland to shop at Costco and Ikea (tax free) around 2pm.
American max weight is 3500 lbs. I read from MBWorld that the max weight in Europe was higher so I bought about 800 lbs of Ikea furniture in Portland (for a grand total of 3800 lbs) and continued up the #5 highway towards Vancouver, BC.
Stayed the night at a Best Western Plus about 2 hours south of Seattle. The next morning, we had their free breakfast and took off at 8am and arrived at the Canadian border at 2pm. If we ever do this trip again, we'd probably split it over 4 days instead of 3 if we do any shopping. Without the shopping stops, we probably could have done it in 2 days.

Good looking GLK- has the AMG PKG. & the factory hitch? I am about to install the factory accessory hitch on ours. The way the hitch is integrated into the bumper reinforcement is slick & very robust. Made by Westfalia out of Germany.
