GLK250 Bluetec choppy acceleration

I'm finding, especially when the vehicle is cold, that it exhibits choppy acceleration at lower speeds. I'm talking about constant throttle pressure, and the vehicle seems to not want to accelerate smoothly.

I don't seem to notice it after the vehicle warms up, so not sure if it's just a quick of a diesel engine (first diesel I've ever owned) - but it's odd to me.

I do not really experience that. But then I also do not drive it hard when cold. By the time I get on MacLeod it is usually warm

let the engine warm up to operating temperature before you try to push it. Are you trying to up-shift manually? Watch your revs , shift points are around 2500 rpm and the car when cold will seem like the transmission won't shift but really it's looking for the 2500 shift point.

I'm not talking about driving it hard at all. I'm talking about in my neighbourhood, 30-50 km/h, very minimal throttle input.

Auto, eco mode (typically). Going to try sport mode to see if it's any better.

A gaggle of MB's
If this is your 1st "diesel" - yes, the characteristic will be different from the gassers you have had in the past - the fact is with "S" - which "chops off 7th speed overdrive" - and more importantly a proactive move with your accelerator - you have serious scoot power on tap - and feel 1000% encouraged to adapt and use it !

Keep the beat !

Tried the "S" mode during this initial phase of driving, it's even worse. I think the throttle is just not linear enough. Is the throttle in the GLK drive-by-wire? That might explain what I'm experiencing.
