2010 GLK 350 - oil filter part #?

Just purchased a used 2010 GLK 350 and am planning on doing some routine maintenance. Searched the forum but can't find a definitive answer regarding the proper oil filter...

Is this the correct filter?:
Mann-Filter HU 718/5 X Metal-Free Oil Filter
Amazon.com: Mann-Filter HU 718/5 X Metal-Free Oil Filter: Automotive Amazon.com: Mann-Filter HU 718/5 X Metal-Free Oil Filter: Automotive

It seems a little crazy (but very convenient) that my GLK would use the same filter as my G500...

Either the the Mann or Hengst filter is correct but there are variations. Amazon has a handy fit app that runs when you put your car in to their page. There are a few different variations so I wouldn't assume it's the same. I just checked using your link and my 2010 GLK is set with their cookie. How nice. Yes that is the correct filter. Compare with AutohausAZ.com for price and delivery. They are good too.

Thx for the reply - Yes, I've used Autohausaz.com - they are quite good, and since I live in Phx shipping is usually extra speedy.

When I tried the Amazon fitment app, it gave me a filter that had a strange pyramid-shaped plastic appendage on one end of the filter...

I'll order it up anyway, because if it doesn't fit my GLK, it will fit in my G500

MjHawkins, thank you for mentioning us!

The Mann HU7185X and the Hengst 0001802609HE will be the correct oil filters for the 10 GLK350. The only difference is that the Mann is a paper type and the Hengst is a fleece filter.

The pyramid shaped plastic is part of some filter housings, not the filter. When you unscrew the housing you'll see the plastic "cone". It doesn't remove. You pull the pleated paper cylinder up and off the housing and cone. Don't forget to replace the O rings too. You'll get a new set with the filter - frequently more than you need because there are several fitments like your G500.

Yes, I found another oil change thread here on mbworld for the GLK and the filter and housing looks eerily familiar to my G500's... The cone thing on the Amazon link was actually attached to the filter and something I'd not seen before. Funny that the G & the GLK filter 'kits' both include extra O rings

I just got a Service A (oil change) on my GLK. Got Mobil 1 0W40 with a Mahle oil filter, part number OX814D in a shop in Vancouver.

See attached picture of the oil filter box.
