350 GLK W/O 4MATIC

I have a 2013 350GLK purchased new in Florida. It has the standard 19'' tires without 4MATIC. Pretty much standard in Florida but now I am thinking of moving to Ohio. Can anyone tell me about having 2wheel drive in snow country and how it works out? Does anyone use winter tires like Blizzaks? Love the vehicle and hate to trade for what may amount to a dozen really bad days a year. Opinions?

With a set of dedicated snow tires you will be fine.
Obviously, it won't be as good as 4MATIC but you'll do just fine.
I had scorpion ice & snow tires and they were great but it's time for a new set of winter tire for me.
This time I'll try Blizzaks. In fact, I have bought them already but I haven't install them yet.

350 GLK, C280
My wife had a dedicated set of Blizzaks on her CLK (not 4AWD) in Eastern PA. and they worked great. They have a top layer of compound that actually absorbs water, so you don't have the little layer of water on top of ice. It is like driving on a dry surface. It is the water on top of the ice that makes things slippery.
They do wear that layer down quickly, however. So put them on late in the season and take them off early as you can. Even though there is tread left, that layer may only be good for 12,000 miles or so.
