Interior lighting mod?

Has anyone added interior lighting to your GLK? Im talking about footwell lights that turn on at night...similar to my E-class.

I have the same question. It would be great to have footwell lighting when the door opens.

In the good old days this would be a 1 hour job (for both sides!); just mount the lamps and wire them into the door switch.

These days, however, you'd probably throw a half-dozen error codes and void your warranty...

SLK 350 2013
My 2013 has foot well lighting, so maybe the install isn't so bad.

The computer part will be a pain

I'm also on a forum for my wife's Infiniti and here's one person's solution:

This may not be the right Infiniti forum for me...

No interior lights are tied to error codes. All you have to do is just tap the wire. Most people at the dealer probably wouldn't notice/care RE warranty issue regarding this type of a mod.
