GLK HVAC blower removal

Hi folks, My HVAC blower motor seems to work intermittently. I need to give it a good knock under the glove box in order for it to begin working almost very time. My 2010 GLK350 is no longer in warranty so would like to replace it myself. I’m pretty handy but cannot seem to find the way to remove it from under the glove box. I already removed the plastic panel and have clear view on the motor. any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Ed.

How about access it from under the hood? At least this is where the technician removed the rattle noise caused by the leaves on my 2011 GLK350.

Thanks! I just fiddled with it and turns out it is simply a small tab that locks the motor in place. I unscrewed it by turning clockwise and came right off.

Hey, I am having the exact same issue with my truck right now. I have to hit the dash for it to come on. Was the blower dead or dying? Or was it a loose wire or something? Did you end up accessing it under the hood? Thanks

Turns out it was the blower. My guess would be the brushes get sticky therefore a good knock with your hand and it releases the brushes hence it begins to work. The blower needs replacement. It's located under the glove compartment where the cabin filter is. The blower is not bolted on. Once in sight, remove all connectors first. There's a small tab that holds it locked. Once you gently lift the tab and twist clockwise I believe (but could be counterclockwise), it'll fall right down into your hands.

Hey guys, how many screws is it to take the plastic cover off the bottom of the glove box? Is it simply just 4 screws and the whole thing comes off? anything to unplug, wires to deal with before then?

Thanks,
Wayne

3 T-20 screws and a plastic hook in the back.
