2014 GLK 250 -Becker map pilot or Drivers kit plus
I bought a new 2014 GLK 250 last month and I have been looking online for the last few weeks trying to find options to install navigation and back up camera. I came across few threads with the same question but no answers other than suggestions to buy a Tom Tom or Garmin.
I would like to know has anybody installed a Becker map Pilot system or purchased a Drivers kit plus? Are these available in Canada or North America for 2014 GLK 250. Please provide any information or details, where to buy..etc and if I don't have Becker map pilot pre-wiring can I get an aftermarket wiring?
Thanks

wow I didn't think they still had 14's left in stock last month... I also bought a BT250 last month, but a MY15 instead....
mine had the becker pre wiring, which I thought they automatically put on all GLKs now.... so I went to the parts dept and asked for the PN of the becker module I needed, and bought it on Ebay for around 300 bucks...
I also bought the aftermarket rear view camera kit on ebay, but when I took a closer look at the install procedures, it seemed that I had to do some drilling on the rear gate. so I returned the kit, and bought a no-drill backup sensor kit instead...

I was looking for a 2015. However, the dealership had the identical vehicle in 2014 and 2015. I got over 15k off on the 2014 model, so I decided to go with 2014 model.
Can you send me the link for the backup sensor kit that you purchased, was it a DIY?
The dealership has little to no idea about pre-wiring for Becker Navigation and I actually have no plug in connection in my glove compartment to connect the kit. I would like to know if anyone has tried an after market wiring for Becker Navigation.

I haven't received my backup sensor kit yet.
here's the link http://www.ebay.com/itm/261692611732
I've installed the traditional drilling-4-holes style sensor kits in all my other cars and they work fine. I just didn't want to drill the holes in the GLK this time around, and want to give this drill-less kit a try...
dang, I wish I could find a 2014 GLK250 when I made my purchase, sounds like you got a great deal! congrats!

From my understanding the Becker pre-wiring has to be factory installed and isn't a dealer option. So pretty much can't be aftermarket and that was the deal breaker for me with the 2013 we looked at.

it's only a 200 dollar option. so my guess is that there's just a module holder and a wire that connects it to the screen...
your best bet is to go to a junk yard and try to yank the cable from a salvaged GLK. might not work, but worth a shot if you have the time and patience for this kinda thing....

I am not sure it is available in North America and even if it is can I fit in the glove compartment? because it does not have any wiring.
Is there any after market navigation close to OEM or Becker map with command that is available for 2014?

I called 6 shops that install aftermarket Navigation and everyone gives me the same message that they cannot install it in 2014 GLK. Does anyone have similar issues?

From what I gather, the Drive Kit Plus uses your iPhone with an app to mirror the navigation data onto the car's display screen.

I've bought a number of units like this for other cars and it's pretty much plug and play.
Plus IGO8 GPS software IMO is one of the best, plus update maps can always be found on the internet.

Does the touch screen make the joy stick or mouse control obsolete? Does the back up camera function automatically or does it require additional wiring.
I have asked the ebay seller few more questions, please post actual pictures of the device if you have.

These untis are also touchscreen so the knob should be useless now. The camera wires would need to be run from the unit to the back of the car.
