What is this?
Just bought an '11 GLK and found two of these in the "trunk". They're 2-3 feet long, there's a groove on the back side to hold it in place, and the face is ridged with a gap in the grooving at the half way point.
I can't find anywhere that looks like it's missing a molding.
???

Have a roof rack ?
looks like the rubber covering pieces from the sideways going bars, taken out to mount the actual attachment thingys ?
A wild quess, I have to admit... but the size, material and look points to that direction.

Hmm. I do have the roof rack - at least the side rails. I didn't notice that I didn't get the cross bars. But, that could explain why I couldn't find missing molding, either
Thanks!
Thanks!

see the pictures, enlarge them, or google more.
the rubber thing on top of the bar really looks like the ones you found in your car.

There are the coverings for the grooves for the crossbars of your roof rack, when you don't have any accessories attached to them. I have the same on mine. (which are currently out due to my ski rack)
