GLK250: Faint Motor Sound After Shut-off
Hi,
Just purchased the GLK250 and loving the ride. Getting to know the car and still reading carefully through the manual.
I noticed today that, after shutting off the engine and after all lights turn off, I can hear a small quiet motor running (behind the dash? From behind the firewall?) still going for a while. It's very faint. Does anyone know what that sound might be?
Thanks.

Actually, I just went out to listen closely again. The faint motor sound (fan?) comes from the Overhead Control Panel, where the overhead lights, etc., are housed. Even after shutting the doors and then the overhead lights go out, the faint sound of the motor can still be heard for another couple of minutes. I assume this is a cooling fan for the lights, etc.?

I think you might be hearing the adblue def system running. I can hear it running in our 2014 GLK250 for a few seconds after turning the engine off.

I think it might be comand if you have it, it is practicly computer that needs to be cooled...I hear it when I unlock the car and sit inside...no matter if I put key in or not...I think it activates right after unlock...I don't have adblue and I also listen it...

Most likely one of the components in COMMAND, I was told by dealer that NAV uses HDD - it may be still spinning unless it's SSD hard drive. Or a fan cooling down the stereo. On my MK6 Golf I have NAV that does its shutdown routine for a few min after I turn off the engine.
