2015 GLK 250
Used key off E-bay? Can I program it to my car?
If I have the TWO keys that came original with my 2015 GLK250
Can I buy a used one off Ebay and reprogram it myself or
somewhere other than the dealer?
I don't care if the actual "key cut" part matches up, I just
figured a spare key for when I am out boating would be nice but would
rather not part with $500 for a key that I likely won't use that much.

Hmmm.... I bought a spare for my GLK (3rd key) from an M-B dealer in Germany about a year ago. Came to just under $300.00 US (with the horrible exchange rate at the time) including programming. Don't know if there are different models of keys but mine was for Keyless-Go too.
I keep key #3 in my desk at work.

2007 S550 & 2003 SL500
I have the same question. Here's the details - I found a Mercedes-made 4-button chrome key from a 2006 C300 on Craigslist for $30 that looks exactly the same as my 2007 S550 Key.
Can it be reprogrammed by a dealer to work in my S550? I have Keyless Go, but I'm not sure if the 2006 C300 did.

Granted, its a 2000, but the key appears to be the exact same as our nearly new E63 and GLK. SO I am thinking that they are quite likely all the same with different firmware burned into them.
Now, they might use different pricing based on the year of the car you need it programmed to. This of course, is just fleecing plain and simple. Because the hardware (the new key) you receive is the same for all!

The eBay keys are only useful as a "shell" for your electronics - maybe if your working key breaks its case. This actually happened to me once.
The keys can only be programmed once by Mercedes. They need to see your registration or title and drivers license. They then order it for you.
It's an expensive an unavoidable hassle.

When an eBay seller is purposefully circumspect about this he is ripping you off...
