GLK250 - Bodyshop put "CDI" on Trunk??
Wife's brand new 2014 GLK 250 was rear ended. Vehicle was repaired. Came back with "CDI" on the trunk door. "GLK250 CDI Bluetek".
I know that CDI stands for(Common-Rail Direct Injection) (so they say), but what is its significance on the car?
Does it "date" the car? Did it only come on cars from a certain location? Any ideas why some GLK250's have it and some do not? Should I keep it on the car?

Well I would have them replace "Bluetek" with "Bluetec" that's for sure.
Perhaps CDI can stand for Compressed Diesel Injection
I believe newer gasoline cars also use common rail injection, but CDI was only used on older MB diesels. Bluetec replaced CDI.

^ This. In NA "BlueTec" replaced "CDI" in 2007 when the fine DPFs and AdBlue aftertretment systems became standard (as did the requirement for low sulphur diesel fuel). No "CDI" GLK has ever existed in North America. In Europe the BlueTecs are called "CDI BlueEfficiency".

misspelled in my post, correctly spelled on my car. I am having CDI taken off the car. Thanks for info. Do not want car appearing older.
