2014 GLK250
Source for aftermarket parts?

Hi all,

I just bought a 2014 GLK250. I don't have it yet (the dealer is attending to a few things that needed fixing).

Being an avid DIYer (hence why I always join a forum when I buy a car) who can't leave stock alone, I noticed that there seemed to be very little, if any, aftermarket support for the GLK.

I understand that this vehicle is not aimed at the enthusiast crowd, and one could argue that it's hard to mess with perfection , but still, given that the car has C-class DNA, I would've expected a little more in terms of sway bars option, engine tuning chips, especially given that forced inductions engines, and diesels even more, are somewhat easy to tweak for bigger power. No intake? No exhaust options?

Don't get me wrong, I do understand that getting 369 lbs-ft of torque out of a 2.1l mill means that MB has likely pretty much maxed out what can be safely obtained from the engine. I don't want to rice out my car either.

But seeing Chris the Swede's awesome «post-facelift» conversion got me thinking, and surely there is a way to either improve the car's abilities by swapping in compatible MB parts, or going the aftermarket route. So far, though I've come up empty...

Any help? Alibaba and other assorted chinese-sh*t-selling sites are not an option...

2020 C8, 2020 defender 110X, 2019 720S, 2014 GLK 350 4matic, 2015 escalade platinum, 2013 RRS HSELux
Nothing much to pick from. It came fully optioned and capable. Not sure if you have a 4matic but it's a good system. Only aftermarket parts to think of would be roof rack lights or box, front and rear ultrasonic sensors(I did a DIY here). Headrest DVD or iPad holders, DVD bypass for multimedia, headlight retrofit, oem or aftermarket useless tow hitch. Wheels and tires.

This site has some aftermarket parts for the GLK:

For $3,990 you can get the RENNtech stainless headers and ECU. Which will increase your HP by 30. That's what the description says anyways...

The price per hp is ludicrous. Worse than on N/A BMWs... It's for a 350, too...

Mercedes doesn't leave a lot on the table to mess with and improve performance and they're not easy to mess with. You might PM Chris the Swede for ideas but you need to meet EPA too.
