Adding SiriusXM receiver to 2013 GLK350
New to the MBWorld Forum.
We just recently purchased a CPO 2013 GLK350 4Matic and it did not have SiriusXM. We have the standard AM/FM/HD with the Audio 20 option and Navigation.
Has anyone added a factory SiriusXM receiver to their 2013 GLK350?
I browsed the web and found several factory SiriusXM receiver modules from wrecked GLK's that are available.
I was wondering how much of a job it would be to get one of these and install it (or have it installed), so that I could get SiriusXM.
Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Adding SiriusXM
So on the "sticker" that the dealer had on the vehicle, it said that SiriusXM was Standard. This sticker is not the original sticker from the vehicle, just a printed up version to show what is (supposedly) on the vehicle for standard equipment and options. There were some options listed, but the SiriusXM was listed as being Standard Equipment. One of those options was Audio 20. I do not have the H-K option.
Turns out is isn't, so I went back to them to see what they would do about getting it installed, since that was what was advertised. When I discovered it wasn't standard, I started browsing the web to see if their were any modules available from wrecked GLK's.
I definitely don't want to do the "add-on" thing... a separate unit outside of the radio...
So now the dealer is looking into what they will do for me.... hopefully it is that they will find and add the SiriusXM receiver module to my car and make it just like it would be if it had come with it originally.
That is why I was asking if anyone had added a SiriusXM module to their vehicle.
Thanks again for any feedback.

Adding SiriusXM
Thank you bop11 for responding so promptly. While I understand the streaming process and the availability of an iPhone and Android app, I am unclear what "get the computer Sirius" actually means. Could you explain?

The add on's just plug into the back of the radio in series on the harness. It's then accessable from your dash buttons as if it was installed from the factory. I wouldn't be concerned about that. You say your unit should have had the Sirius/XM unit as a factory install. Maybe you just need a software refresh to see it. That would be less hassle and cheaper. If you have to add an aftermarket unit you get the benefit of a warranty too. Check Amazon they have quite a few choices and they are around $100. I have the Sirius/XM unit in my '10 which admittedly has Multi-Media with the H-K. I love it. I don't want to fuss with streaming (and signal drop outs and exceeding my data thresholds. I frequently have a long drive up and down the state and dropout free signals with dash access is a huge plus. The OP's talk about a poor bitrate but I've been happy.
