Transmission 722.96
2013 glk 350, 276.957 motor, 722.960 trans. I have about 43000 miles on it, a few times it has slipped on hard acceleration on Power mode, MB checked it and couldn't find it duplicate the issue or a problem. The dealer said the transmission fluid service isn't until 70.000 miles, and that's what my manual says. But knowing other 722 transmissions that are now being changed to 40,000 miles I think an oil change is smart. Is it?
My dealer wants a total for just oil change US $771.75 . Midwest USA. I think this is a crooked joke. $ 771.75 for a 30 minute 5 -7 quart oil change!

That seems crazy high. Are you sure they're not doing more? We're currently at something like $129 for oil change and $189 for the transmission svc. That said, yes: 40K miles is what we've been recommending.

your transmission service is a drain and fill or is that just labor and parts on top of the $189

$189 is new filter, gasket, fluid, and labor. It's not super profitable, but service and repair isn't our primary business (tuning is, and we offer service and maintenance to our tuning clients as a courtesy). That said, it's not like we'd turn you away for having a stock car. But the takeaway is that $200-250 is a fair range. Much above that is probably excessive.

The original 7G Tronic with the 40k service interval uses COMPLETELY different fluid than the 7G Plus with the 70-80k interval. Maybe since you have a newer PLUS unit, the new fluid is more expensive since it's newer? $700 does seem high but I've read the drain and fill is not easy (temperature has to be right?).
I dread that service!

No just a trans service, I don't know if it's a drop the pan and filter, or a suck and pump. Should I do it since 70,000 miles is still far away, and I've seen it slip and smelled burnt fluid afterward. I'm not spending that kind of money, i even have an extended warranty, I'm just trying to avoid future problems.

I would not flush or drain all the fluid if you smell burnt fuild, chances are it will make it worst by introducing all new fluid, my previous car had the same issue and the introduction of complete fresh fluid made it worst. I would have the dealer document the slip and burnt fuild smell and let the transmission fail since you have the extended warranty.

Nowhere to suck since there is no filler tube. So it's a drop the pan and filter. And they will also pull the plug on the torque converter. I watched a youtube video by that Australian bike rider and I made the adapter and did it myself. But I did not drain the torque converter, I just did 6 quarts. It's not hard, it's just a little disconcerting when you have to get under the car with it running in order to set the correct fluid level at temperature.
