Looking at a 2010 GLK with 90K miles, buy or run?
I'm in the North east (Canada technically) and a 2010 GLK costs a lot less than I expected for an MB.
I can get a 2010/2011 GLK for $16,000 CAD with around 90,000 Miles.
I'm fine with a high mileage car but I'm sort of worried that it might be close to the magic number where stuff falls apart or big things need rebuilds (ex, transmission)
All my last cars have been toyota's which last forever, I'm clueless when it comes to nicer cars though!

2014 glk 250BT (RIP, 3/1/17}, 2010 C300
I wouldn't based on it's mileage but as AZCamel said, it's maintenance and repairs. Has anything major been done to it? If you do decide you want it, get it inspected by someone who knows these cars no telling what may pop up.

My 2010 GLK 4 Matic has 110K on it with no troubles at all. Runs wonderfully. I've had 8 Benz and I've never had the equipment aging or wearing out at a low mileage - like, say, 160,00 as they have on most American makes - Chevy, Ford, Chrysler. It has happened to me with those around 120,000 miles. I can't speak about ultra high miles on the GLK but stories of Mercedes being good for hundreds of thousands of miles in taxi duty in Europe are legendary and common. Yes, do look for maintenance records though. With good maintenance the car should be good for a long time.

I have a 2010 glk350 4matic loaded with all options. 153,000 miles with no issues. bought used with 60,000 miles on it. I'm the 2nd owner. I made sure it had a clean carfax. Bought it online and had it shipped to me.
I also have a 1989 chevrolet silverado bought new, only owner, with over 700,000 miles on original engine. Just changed the oil.
My 2006 c230 has 130,000 miles with no issues as well. 2nd owner, clean carfax also.

For 9k you can roll the dice. It's pretty simple car. Just make sure it was maintained properly. Also easy car to DIY most of the things. I would ask to have engine/tranny engine mounts to be replaced, and have the 2nd tranny flush (80k service item) done, if not already.

Also you can do the Maintenance yourself. I have a 2011 glk350 base rwd with 120k miles and I have done the maintenance myself. It works great. Common things I see on MB of these years is the intake manifold braking, rpm fluctuations which sometimes requires you to replace the torque converter l. I have replaced the intake manifold and about to replace the torque converter on mine. However right now it works very well. The engine is great.
