2010 GLK350 New battery replacement
Hi Folks, in preparation for winter in Montreal, I decided to replace my car battery after a good 7 years with the original. I do not have a battery tender nor memory saver and wondering what to expect once I disconnect the old battery and replace with a new one. Is there anything other than resetting the radio, clock, folding mirrors and sunroof I need to be concerned with? Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Nothing to worry about, just did it on my 2010 GLK, everything works like it should, clock are selfadjusting, radio didn't reset, it has probably bios battery (I have comand). I I don't have sunroof or memory package..

The battery is a starved acid design which has a higher output for it's size like an Optima. It requires a higher charging voltage. make sure you get a direct replacement. You can connect a smaller battery to the terminals before disconnecting to avoid all the resets. I use an old motorcycle battery with a couple pigtails connected to the terminals before disconnecting the old battery. Don't use a regular "flooded" cell battery. It will be unhappy and have a shorter life.

FYI...you can call MB roadside assistance and tell them that your battery is dead and they will replace the battery with new MB one. You just pay for battery which is 180 bucks (no labor charge) in my area. You just have to make sure it's during normal hours when the actual MB roadside guy is available.
