Crankshaft Sensor Position DIY 2013 glk 250
i popped a crankshaft circuit sensor position a on my code reader. so in the interest of posting new things for other owners of this vehicle, i documented my repair to help others
Diff. Easy
Tools required
1/4 Wrench (for torx male screw)
8mm hex (for undercarriage)
A 276 905 12 00 (sensor, please note that this model number is different from the original on the car, however i verified the dealership is correct)
Ramps or a set of car jacks
Wheel blocks
Step 1:
Jack up/ pull up vehicle on ramps. Apply emergency brake. Place vehicle wheel blocks.
Step 2: Remove under carriage cover (you only need to remove the middle one and the one to the rear which covers the transmission drip pan). After this you can open the hood to allow more light to help out with the process.
Step 3: Using the attachments find the Crankshaft sensor which is located on the fly wheel. For reference, it is right where the transmission and engine meet. which is as far as the front wheel is. Again please note in the attachments for reference.
Step 4: Unplug the the cps plug, theres a grey tab on the electrical connection, push down and pull out.
Step 5: Use 1/4 wrench to take out torx screw.
Step 6: Pull sensor out.
Step 7: Insert new sensor and screw in torx screw. Hand tight is plenty enough
Step 8: Replug the electrical connection
Step 9: Start car to assure its connected properly
Step 10: reattach the under carriage covers. and then you are done!
