For Distance Pilot Distronic with Steering Pilot
Has anyone tried it on your car?
Could not find any videos on the youtube for GLS steering pilot too.
I am confused it with cruise control, my understanding is that it is upgrade/premium cruise control.
How to lock it with front car/vehicle?
It means to keep the setting distance with the front car and turn or change lane with it as well.
I have an experience with its function on the freeway once, I got GLS 350d, I tried it, but I did not know how I did it exactly. My car went to exit on the freeway without manual control by following the front car.

I've tried it a couple of times. It doesn't work that well. It comes on by default as long as you have regular distronic active. Occasionally it helps steer you back into your lane, sometimes it completely misses when it approaches the lane marker, ignoring it completely. It's basically a slightly better active lane keep assist. And yes, it can get real confused near exits. It's not a system you can rely on, so honestly, it might as well not be there. The new E class (which I've also driven) seems to have improved on it slightly, but still, nowhere near the Tesla autopilot level.
