E63 1, Suzuki gsxr600 0

after work, I saw some dude on a 2005 GSX-R600 (yellow) riding like an a$$ at about 80-90 mph on this highway i usually take. I catch up and pull up next to him and we both gunned it. the next thing that happened was gixxer in my rear view mirror about a good 8-9 car length at 135mph and fading.

my E63 kept pulling like a train even after 135mph but i cut off the throttle when i made sure he knew he got served by a 4 door sedan. ahaha

this car is a beast, well defined in sporty way than E55 as all the other E63 reviews say. E55 has good torque but I like the total package that 63 comes with.

here is a quick snap of the beauty/beast.

I hate to rain on your parade but there is no way a e63 will beat a sport bike. . I used to race 600-750s in my 800rwhp supra and win from a roll but not in a E!!!!!!!

Crap....here we go again..(Bike Kill debate that is) Still trying to set myself up to kill or be killed by a bullet, but can never find them when I am out

We need to have Bike VS AMG race day. Rolling runs of course.

I can ask around on the local boards, but then I am gonna get the Hayabusa guys that wanna punish me.

I wanted to race the BMW guy (posted weeks ago), but since then we are kinda hitting it off and he really loves his bike. It would really bum him out if (by chance) he lost to a car so I never brought it up again.

In a line you need a rocketship to beat a bike ... 600s these days are as fast as old 1000's.

The guy ran out of b*llls not speed is my call....

But a kill is a kill...

I came up against a bike in my E55 ... it was a big bike but not sure what...

for first 20 meters i hung with him and then it was just bibi he left me standing - even as we went into a mild corner...

if you dusted a gsxr that fast then you have mad skills but i am guessing the guy downshifted to 5th instead of 3rd or 4th depending on speed. I too came from many 750 Ninja's (2 race prepped for the street) before the HD and from a roll the only thing that even gave me a good race was a Viper.

On a street bike from 80 to 135 feels like 0-60 in the beast! Tuck in and hold on!

Even the gsxr's that are a few years old are still rockets!

If anyone is interested I am selling my Harley to get another ZX-10. New Ninja is insane!

i use to ride and race bikes as well...the only way to pull on 600 that much was if the 600 was old school...imho!

the newer 600's are damn fast...even more so from a roll.

i think our cars would have a easier time beating bikes from a stop...600, 750's with the short wheel base are tough to launch from a stop...then they have to play catch up.

good kill though!

and the usual...just my $.02 worth!

i've been riding 600's since their first generation and there's no way any of our cars will walk away from a 20 year old 600 let alone a modern version.

the only way you won this race is if he let you.

Nice Kill! I will say no more because everytime I talk about racing bikes I get flamed. Even if the E55 won't "beat" a bike, it's got to be impressive that a 4 door "grocery getter" will "hang."

As for a car possibly having an advantage from the dig...here's a link to a video showing a mid-11 sec. Cobra (I know the owner) vs. a Gixxer 750. There are a few mid-11 sec. E55's out there.

I raced my friend with a 600R a long while back and the difference wasn't bad at all. Now I know they are a lil slower then the R6's and such but I think it wasn't all that bad of an outcome. We started from a dig, and he instantly got 2-3 cars on me and started pulling...when I reached about 70 I noticed that he wasn't gettin any further ahead, instead I was beginning to close the gap very slowly!~! We shut off at 150 with me about 1 car back...not too bad for a four door sedan

An e63 should beat a 600cc sports bike no problem (at least from a dig). Not sure about a high speed roll because I've never done it myself so I won't comment on that.

I roasted my buddies Yamaha 750 R1 in my C55K S7 (again, from a dig).

LOL you guys are funny.

Ask yourself this ... What does a newer 600 or 700 trap at and what does a E63 Trap at? Game over

A E63 will need in excess of 700rwhp in order to overcome the power to weight of the bike. The only thing holding the bike down is aerodynamics. If the rider doesnt tuck at the higher speeds it can hurt it a bit

Dragon your buddy cant ride then!!

Ya, the modern 600's are running mid to high 10's at over 140 mph. He was probably in the wrong gear. Even still, its a kill.

BTW Dragon, what is a 750 R1?

Akara,

Your bike is beautiful. I will check it out! The wife says I need to unload my Harley before I buy another new toy. Too bad the market has slowed a bit for HD's that are done from head to toe.

SOunds like fun but dunno if id call it a "kill"! a true kill IMO is both parties using all of their vehicles performance, and in a straight line this doesnt require much skill! The 600's these days run 10's and 0-62 in the 3second bracket!

While the 63 is a rabbit out of the hole, a nicely slipped clutch on a bike is still way quicker.

Good to hear you enjoying the 63 tho!

how many of you really own bikes? not "i used to have one" BS or "my ex-roommate has one" BS. if i have to explain the dynamics of racing bikes at high speed then you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. if you never done it, please keep your doubts/comments yourself.

little bit about myself.. I'm a big bike fan, went through a number of bikes and now own a 996 with some goodies. what happened is what happened in the E63 vs. GSXR600.

it was from 80-90 mph. this wasn't a 0-60 mile run. if that was the case that 600 would've smoked my E63, no argument there, i totally agree.

it's actually easy to beat bikes at 110+ mph on the highway. in a car you feel a lot more safe, esp. this E63 is just rock solid. on a bike it's a different story. that's how the cars with big displacement engine can walk away from the bikes at high speeds.

and you, I am the No.1 stunner.

i'm glad you followed up your first statement with the second. there is no way in hell the e63 has a chance against a 600 sport bike with an average rider...not 0-60, not 60ft, not 1/4 mile, not a roll on. put someone on that has no idea of how to ride and you've got a chance to beat the person, but not the bike.

babying the clutch on my old '99 r6 netted 11.2's at 128mph. if i wanted to waste the clutch it was worth high 10's...STOCK.

[raising hand] i've onwed a modern sportbike since the late 80's.

dude, if you own a bike you should damn well know there's no way you would walk a modern sportbike of any size without the rider letting you do so. c'mon, 8-9 car lengths from 80-135mph just aint going to happen unless he wasn't racing. sorry bud, facts are facts.

it may be easy to beat a rider at 110+ on the highway but you're NOT beating the bike. in fact, i give the rider props for not showing you what's up on the highway.

I part agree with you. I didn't beat the bike afterall. I beat the rider that day.

Now let me ask you a question. How many riders do you know that push their bikes 100% of the bikes' performance on a highway? I can say may be 10% of the big-balled guys who's ready to give up their lives racing on a highway would only do that. to add on, i was pushing the E63 100% of the performance because it is quite easy to do so in a very controlled manner.
