C32 vs C5 vette

a light to light kinda race it was a t-top? vette guy in his late 20's with his blond chic. he has his top off and i have all my windows down and hear him say to his gf "its a 4dr amg, wants to race?!" ..so the light turns green and i have a quarter to half a car lead on him to the next light and then turns and says "DAMN THATS A QUICK CAR!" ..i replied "ya man it's not that bad" 10 seconds later my cell rings and my buddy says "did i just see you beat a vette!!!!!" ...it was pretty funny ..guess i caught the vettes attn in the first place cause at the light before he was a couple cars back diagonal so he probably saw my badges and raced up to line up with me

I like the corvette it’s a nice sports car and for $50k you can get a Z06. great handling power and braking. But some of the drivers are real ****y and deserve to be put in their place.

I agree

the Z06 is nice, but for $52,000 I would get a C32 AMG...for $55,000 and ad desire for a classic coupe, I would get a fully loaded new CLK 430!

The C32 and the clk 430 are nice cars but i like the corvette because its a sports car the 430 dosent have to power to compeat with the z06 and i dont think the C32 has the handeling of a z06 i like the z06 because its fast and cheap $ for what it can do.

Nice Kill.............but do you guys stereotype every one that doesn't own a MB?? I'm just hanging around waiting on a tech question on my dad's 380 SL.............but I'd say that Vette you ran was either bone stock or the guy couldn't drive. I have nothing more that a cold air intake and I'm running consistant 12.5's @110. Z06's are in the high 11's with nothing more than bolt ones and a decent driver.

Talking

Actually, the Blue-tinted windows are called as such. They come with the CLK 430s.
I have no problems with the Corvette, just like I have no problems with a Honda Prelude and 120-Hp shot of NOS or an Intergra GS-R with a GReddy Turbo Kit.
The point is I want something that is fast, plus has the luxury appointments to be a true contender.
The Z06 is a bargain at $50K. But the winning is so much sweeter in a C32 AMG!

Well .........there was also the comment from Xpeed. But that comment could also be made about some driver's of almost any other vehicle.

Hey Roozy,

My stepbrother has a nicely modded C5 that I don't find easy in my C32. Last race was before my pulley, and I had the 200lbs extra in my car (my brother-in law ) It was close but he had a little more go-go than me.

However I suppose with pulleys and no extra weight, maybe my win. I think stock a C5 and C32 is usually close, with some advantage to C5.

Did the C5 fans see the suspension discussion in C&D this month?
Seemed very thorough. Corvette has basically 4 OEM options to choose from, quite nice.
