Yes, the 2012's have the M278 engine, and it is a hell of a machine, they have actually been dynoed much higher.
My car is being tuned by RennTech, it will output 530hp and 606ft lbs of torque....This in a 3700lb car

Dude! I knew nothing about it in the Eclass! All the C63 guys are gonna sell or should!!!!!!!!!! BEAST!!!!!!!
Your car has the potential to give a tuned TTE63 a run for the money and should murder the new F10M5 hands down!
What they are doing to these German cars nowadays is totally insane!

On a side note I had a little run with a F10 M5 with my C63. M5 got me by a fender. M5 had less then 1k miles. These new TT m5 are monsters.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJ5bG...yer_detailpage
Propains z06 has the shortblock done. Netting 20-30whp. He also ran my friends 09 z06-tune,intake,catback which puts about 30+whp. The outcome was close. BTW Propain trapped 127+ in 80f in his vbox. A stock z06 doesnt trap that high in those conditions. Btw I gained 4mph+ with 40whp from tune on a 39xxlbs car.

don't usually post in the kill section...
but F10 550i... trap about 108/109 stock..
there are tunes available.. but very common. Even the piggy back tune from JB tuning is only good for a decent bump ..but nothing like the 4.7TT or 5.5TT engines from MB and AMG.
If you get the jump.. your C55 traps just about the same.. he will need more space to real you in.

I can easily take the OP's world on beating a Dinan 550i, You know as well as I do of lots of Dinan Software Actually being installed incorrectly In The Vehicles and yet most owners still believe they're faster until they get smoked I can tell the OP one thing, My stock 550i is a wolf in sheep's clothing

And put a few bucks into the (especially 2014) 550i tune and it's bye bye C219 CLS63 or even new C218 CLS63. People here are underestimating what a tuned 550i is capable of, and I'm not even talking about the 2014's with the N63tu motors with 450 HP that have raised the power bar against the direct M-B competitors.

What are you a BMW salesman , a tuned 550 really, whatever your smoking I would like some of it, who says am gonna stay stock for long or perhaps most people who buy NA63s , and then you said even the new 218 CLS 63 , so if a tuned 550i is supposed to blow AMGs out of the water I guess we have no chances against F10 M5s huh, please , the ginger bread man can be driving the 218 CLS 63 and still blow 550s out of the water , think again, if 550i was that potent , why buy an M5 then , I guess BMW must be retarded huh
A tuned 550i can indeed throw up comparable to better straight line times than an M5 (depending on the tune). It's a common discussion on BMW boards and possibly one reason as to why the F10 M5 isn't as enticing a choice over its "regular" F10 brothers as previous M5's were to their N/A siblings. The M5 is faster than a new CLS63 from what I understand and certainly faster than a C219 CLS63, so there's your answer.
Tuned 550i's are throwing up well over 500 HP with leagues more torque than your N/A 6.2L. The N63tu motor with 450HP stock is practically almost there on its own, with much more torque. Simple facts and logic. Both N63/N63tu motors have been shown to be underrated as well.

I'm not positive about the CLS63 VS tuned 550i indeed, but I'd imagine squeezing out another 100+ HP from a car with a V8, two turbos and an underrated 450 crank HP to start shouldn't be that difficult. I'm sure more knowledgable people with firsthand experience know the answer to that.
I'm not sue if AMG is still putting out more HP? Maybe recently with their Performance Package or whatever they call it, but I'm positive that the M5 had more HP than either the E or CLS63 when it came out (and still does over the "base" 63's).
EDIT: Just verified. The normal AMG CLS63 has "only" 518 HP which is far off from the M5, and even the performance package version has 550 HP which is still a little shy. Honestly I would imagine any decent tune on a 550i, especially the new 445 HP one will blow right past 518 crank HP (i.e the current "base" CLS63).
