I would check....
The Speaker fuses. THere is a pinouit for the fuses on the cover of the fuse box. I think the speakers and the lighter are on the same circiut so check to see what is on the circiut and check to see if that is working also.
Good Luck

don't see any fuse for cig. lighter - however there were 3 fuses related to the sound sysem and all are fine. I also checked each fuse in the fuse box (under hood) all fine.
is there some other fuse related with the BOSE AMP somewhere else in the car? I'm getting no sound not even static - zero.
thanks again

The audio gateway is I believe under the dash near the consol but its a real pain to get to. I suggest you go to a dealer or an audio shop familiar with the ML and have it diagnosed.

recoding the radio
when your battery dies, then you'll need to enter the 'radio code' to make the system operational. that's just part of the anti theft feature.
My system is working fine. I have a display, all radio stations, tape, cd, everything is working fine, just no sound is coming out.
is this the same problem you had? by recoding do you mean somthing besides what I mentioned here?
thanks

I have the same issue. I've read take fuse #10 and #21 out wait 30 seconds and reistall, reset the radio you need a code ( you can call your dealer where you bought the car and they have the code if you don't have it handy).
I've also been told the amp is in the side panels of the rear doors, you must remove the panels to acess them.
From what I've been reading this is a common problem, but the remedy seems hit or miss. But MB knows the issue and has sent dealer warnings on the radio.

The Amp Of Ml Is Located Under Driver's Seat, It's A Black Metal Thing Lays Flat To The Floor. Do Not Remove The Door Panel Like Some Dump*ss Told You To. So The Bose Amp Is Under Driver's Seat, The Navigation Computer Is Under Passenger Seat. I Would Check The Connections On The Back Of Comand Unit To See If Their Is Any Burned Wire

Kenneth,
Thanks for the reply that's the best news I've heard on this subject.
Is there a fuse for the Amp????
Could there be a fuse in the fuse box near the engine or on my passenger side panel that is for the amp that could have blown out?????

My bad, just checked with my tech guy in dealer, the Amp is behind the instrument cluster ( behind the steering wheel) not the black metal thing lay down flat to the floor, it's the Subwoofer's amp. So if you open 2 plastic pieces behind the steering wheel, and the plastic/rubber top cover of steering wheel, pop 2 screws on top of the instrument cluster, take it out and you will see the amp is right in there ( if you view from the top it verticaly right next to the air vent by the wind shield . i opened to check it myself, and the fuse is right next to the amp. Good luck

Amp located above parking break in footwell, not that easy too locate but once you find it it makes sense.
My Steeo had fiber optic issues. I bypassed the cd changer and the tele aid bus still. There is a guy on ebay in NJ that fixes them but he has major problems with mine so I would be careful. I am delaing with that for about 5 months now. More info let me know, I see what I can do for you

New ML350 2003 owner here with the same issue. It came back on briefly yesterday but it is off again now. The problem is only FM. AM/WB both produce sound. Have not tried the CD yet but assume the same. Might go with an aftermarket head unit like I've done in my SL. Bypassed the amp and wired directly to the speakers.
