2002 ML500
ML500 Throttle position

I have a 2002 ML500. Engine performance is good but occasionally (particularly when just started) the throttle position is not recognized by the fuel and ignition system. When it does finally recognize the depressed pedal it takes off and runs perfectly. Is there a sensor that the computer recognizes for both ignition and fuel or is it the computer not responding to the input? This would only be an annoyance if it didn't happen in the middle of busy 4 lane intersections especially with my wife frantic at the wheel.
