Equipment Question

So, I'm picking up an 08 ML320 in a week or two. I plan to use the vehicle to travel up to Lake Tahoe quite a bit. However, I was wondering if any of you could recommend me a spare set of rims and tires geared more towards snow use. And if there are any descent winches available for it as well.

I don't know if there are any spcial rims for snow, but there are lots of snow tires that will give you plenty of comfortable ride. Tire Rack sells winter packages for the MLs. Look at their selection first. If you want tires only the B'Stone Blizzaks are one of the better SNOW tires. For all weather riding, there are many - Michelin X-terrain seems to be popular here. I believe your 08 320 will come with Continental all season tires. They may just be sufficient. Last winter I went skiing in Syracuse, NY with my OEM Dunlops SP Sport 5000 (V rated all season tire) and never had any problems at all in deep snow, all the way up to over 1/4 tire width.
