No volume on Bose radio ML350

Hey everyone,

Recently the radio on my 2003 ML350 Inspiration has been malfunctioning. The CD works great and AM sounds crisp, but the volume on the FM band is 90% gone. I have been trying to research the issue hoping for a quick fix, but have yet to pinpoint the problem. Please help!

Replace the stock unit with an aftermarket....sounds like the unit has about had it.

My ML has optical connections which means I would have to replace everything, which is definitely not an option right now. If it were just a matter of me replacing the head unit, I would pull the trigger, but it's not that easy with the Bose equipment.

If it requires replacing your headunit...you are way above the cost of an Aftermarket with amp for the speakers. The sound works will all others and not FM...not a grounded speaker...not a bad amp...not a fuse. Only peice left is the headunit...Sorry...

I guess in sense you are correct. I have been told so many times that because of the optical connections from the amp and the cd player, that both become useless. Is there any instruction on how to replace the system with a more traditional setup? I also heard that the current antenna needs to be modified?

I installed the AVIC F700BT...it came with it's own antenna for GPS. The unit was $400 shipped...works beautifully.

This is the NEWER version of what I have:
http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-AVIC-X...0207245&sr=8-3

Installation will take a little while...but worth it in the end. I rewired my truck in 4 hours. New wires for all speakers AND full sub set. That lncluded taking out/reinstalling the interior.

If you want to verify the optical connections...maybe if they are the same...pull one from another spot and install to see if the FM starts working. Just a thought.

Another thought would be getting and using Sat radio instead. Worth the money and if you are on a budget...cheaper than replacing the entire unit.

I meant AMP not FM module. Check antenna or AMP. Good luck hope that works cheaper then a new radio.

You are a S because you don't know anything about this matter, due to the fact that you did not have this trouble. You are like the others that think to know, but in the reality you never saw it... only read in the books but never touched. You cannot immagine, really. The mechanics of my MB garage did the same as you, but after one year they did not find the problem. They also called in germany, not far from here. I live in Switzerland. I am sure you only like to break the ***** to the people... tat's all. You poor.

I have the same problem as you man!! Same issue, I'm not sure what your talking about. I want it fixed. I'm not saying you are not saying the truth, my radio does the same things, low Volume in FM, and a buzzing noise like interference. Did you find out why this happens? I looked all over, people saying its a Mic in the rear vie mirror, Antenna issues and it was none of them.
