Last year, my passenger side headlamp went out. I replaced the bulb twice b4 I realized there was no problem with the bulb. Checking the fuse panel, I found the headlight fuse to be fine. I ended up believing I had a wiring problem, and took the car to a garage, where I was charged a $50 diagnostic fee to change a passenger side headlight fuse. The guy at the shop when I picked up my car claimed to have no idea where the fuse mentioned on the work order was, and I just wanted to get home, so I gave up on learning where this fuse was (should it need replacing in the future).

It's now one year later, and I have the same problem on the driver's side. The only fuse I see in the panel for headlights is fine. Can anyone help me figure this out? The auxillary fog light on that side that I can normally turn on with the low beams went out at the same time, and I'm betting they share a ground wire. Is there an in-line fuse on each side?

I'd rather not pay another $50 to have the mechanics laugh at me again!

how did you solve it? I'm having the same issue with my low beam on the driver's side?

Passenger side low beam stopped working. Swapped bulbs & did not help. Opened fuse panel. The low beam fuse looks just fine. (F3 & F5 are the fuses I believe for the 2 sides).

Now I am confused...anyone?

You are confused because fuses 3 & 5 are for the high beams. Fuses 34 & 35 operate the low beams.

Driver side low beam still doesn't want to work. High beam works fine. Driver side fog lamp had taken a knock through a car wash around the same time the low beam stopped working, but the fog lamp is restored and back up.

Wondering if it has something to do with that...

Remove the connector to the headlight. With the headlight switch on, check for battery voltage at the pink wire and then check for ground at the tan wire with a volt meter.

If you are getting both voltage and ground then there is something wrong with one of the pins in the connector.

Hi Maj.

I have same problem, right head lamp not working.

High beam works
Parker light works
Fog light works

Low beam is not working

Conducted following.

Volt tested at fuse 35 result 12 volts
Volt tested at lamp connector pink wire result 12 volts
Checked continuity of earth result perfect
Took left head lamp unit and plugged into right headlamp unit loom and everything worked.
Tested right unit with left unit globe result low beam did not work

If you switched the bulbs and it works, then it has to be the bulb on the right side. But always replace them as pairs because the left on won't be too far behind.

I know I'm digging up an old thread, but my high beam indicator stays on, even though I can turn on the fogs. I've noticed that I can switch from high to low if I hold the stalk just right, but the projectors seem to be the only headlights that operate.

Any ideas?

Your problem is solely with the Combination Switch and it must be replaced.

I was worried about that. Do I have to replace the entire assembly, or can I replace the lighting stalk alone?

It's a one piece item. Buy new from M/B or take your pick on ebay.
