2005 ML350 iphone integration?
Hi guys, so my parents just gave me their 2005 Special Edition ML350 while they went and bought the 2014 models. Needless to say the car is amazing, and different kind of enjoyment than the 2008 Honda Accord I also drive. The car is in mint condition both on the outside and inside and has no accident or technical trouble history. So I have a couple questions, first the simpler ones:
1) What grade gas should I put in it? So far Ive been putting 89 rating.
2) How warm should it be out for me to car wash it? I don't want to damage the paint, and we're averaging around 10 degrees here in Chicago.
3) Where can I buy a trunk net? It comes with three nets on all sides except the opening, but I want a net at the opening to prevent any boxes from falling when I open the trunk.
Finally the reason I came to these forums:
How do I integrate my iPhone to my car? The ONLY thing I want to do is to be able to hear the audio out of the car speakers. I have no problem controlling everything through my iphone, and nor do I plan on using the phone through the car. I tried looking for an AUX in port but no luck. FM transmitters suck beyond all repair where I live. Also I don't want those complicated systems that are for controlling the phone through the cars audio panel. I want a simple way to hear the music I play through my iPhone out of the car speakers.
Thanks for the help!

Change your head unit. MB one is crap anyway..... Get a nice aftermarket head and enjoy.
Download user manual and read it properly before you damage your car with low octane fuel.

tape adapter
I use the tape adapter in my '05 ML 350. The wire is routed so as to be hidden between the panel gap, and it terminates down in the ashtray. I run both my Ipod and my Sirus radio through this device. They work pretty well for about 2 years, then the sound starts to degrade. But, at around $20.00 for the device and maybe 5 minutes worth of wire routing time, it works well for me. I'll post photos if you ask.

Did u ever find a solution to your iPhone? My wife is in same boat as u, parents gave her their 04 ml350 and got the 14. We've tried the tape but the quality is lacking. I've looked at trying to add on, but the car's fiber optic wont allow it.
