ML500 cooling fan wiring problems
Ive got a ML500 that previous owner installed a aftermarket fan using a toggle switch to turn on (talk about Bush League). Ive since purchased a new OEM fan, but he cut the wiring harness. Could someone enlighten me on the color to pin location of the factory fan. I have loose wires I need to hook up to new fan.

Here is the diagram and legend.
Please note the following:
1. M4/7 is the fan.
2. Blue wire comes from fuse #22 in the fuse box.
3. White wire comes from the ECM.
4. Brown wire comes from ground W2.
5. Red wire comes from special 100 amp fuse at the battery.

First I got to say Dundee you have been a tremendous help!
I'll take a closer look at my fan to make sure the + and - for red and black are there. Inside the black plug there are 4 pins, I'll ring them out to see if they can be put in series with the color located just below. If you see my picture there are two big pins and two smaller just above.

An OE fan only has two pins. I have no idea why yours has two and two.
Be aware that WHITE wire is a Pulse Width Modulated signal that comes from the ECM and the BLUE wire comes from fuse #22. You must be absolute sure of where those two wires are situated or else you can fry your ECM.

This thing does not the the lugs for the + and -, appears to have the pins inside the plastic disconnect, that is why I have 4 pins. Im attaching a few better pictures, hopefully someone will recognize this set up..

You do not have the correct fan or this is Thailand's version which is totally wrong.
This is why the M/B version costs $950 and that is why the previous owner went with the toggle switch and then sold the truck.
I cannot offer any other info or suggestions. You are on your own.

Update:
Ok guys I decided I was swinging for the fence, I took a guess and hooked it up. Got it right the fan is running! My seat heaters are working and the coolant low light is off! Dundee I greatly appreciate your help and time spent researching, also thank the person how took those pictures for you, I used them to help with my educated guess. I will post the correct pin to color layout on here if anyone else had this issue.
Thanks again everyone
Dave
