2002 ML320
722.6 transmission flush procedure?

I have a 2002 ML320, which has no torque converter drain plug. I need to change the transmission fluid soon. Other than just the pan gasket/filter way replacement, which only takes out close to half of the fluid, what else can I do to remove more fluid? Is there a line I can unplug somewhere and drain more fluid from that?

My dealer when I lived in Charlotte, MB of South Charlotte, did a flush with BG fluid using a BG machine (even though I requested the exact original fill fluid), it lists 12 quarts on my invoice. That was the first ever flush or fluid change on the transmission at 180k miles, and at 208k in the winter, 3 years later, it is doing better than before the fluid flush. At 211k I pulled a full size Bronco behind her for 50 miles or so and she did great...as she does when pulling the (4000#) boat. Maybe find one of those machines at a dealer near you, I think it cost me about $230 including the 'free' detail job they do on the car, and the new ML loaner car...less than a DSG fluid change (that only takes 5 liters) on my VW.

Here you go. Follow the PDF & flush the tranny. Post back if anything is not clear. You will need
1 Transmission filter
2 Transmission pan gasket
3 About 14litres of transmission fluid
You don't need any machines.
Make sure the floor of the garage(under the car) is covered with plastic or something....it can be very messy......
I would change the 13 pin connector socket while down there.........
