So i'm getting my ATF changed next week

As the title says im getting my tranny fluid changed next week as well as the pressure regulator spring or valve spring My question can I just directly access the old springs housing WITHOUT dropping the valve body or do I have to do it?

I was looking at this link and it not quite clear to me: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w210...placement.html

It's obvious from the link photos that the valve body is still attached to the trans.
