ML350 Center Brake Light Out

I have a 2005 ML350 that I purchased used a few days ago and the center brake light is out. The bulb is good and there is no voltage at the socket when then brake light is pressed and the engine is on.

The other 2 brake lights and the plate light is ok. Need some diagrams or direction on where to look. Not sure if is on another fuse from the left and right brake lights.

This is a wiring problem. Fuse #15 supplies voltage to all the brake lights, to solder splice Z52/6, then to connector X18/1 and then to the bulb socket.

Work backwards and remove the tailgate liner and locate ORANGE wire, slot #5, in conn. X18/1. Test both sides of of the conn. for 12v.

Refer to this link for tailgate liner removal.

Thanks for all the info... I feel stupid, I looked at the bulb and it looked good, but I did not test it. When I tested the socket, I did not have the key on... DUH! New bulb fixed the problem.
