99 ML320- a couple of small issues

howdy all,
I have a few issues on the ML (227k now) that are minor, but bothersome.
Anybody ran into these? I'de appreciate any guidance you might have.

The Bose stereo backlight, and the trip computer backlights don't work.
- the digital numbers are visible, but no glowing light behing them.
- the radio doesnt show any light.
both work fine.

The driver power seat doesnt work. (passenger seat works)
- I have checked the main fuse panel and to see if the plug came off- both appear fine.

thanks!

Did you take the rear cover off to the fuse box and find the separate fuses and did you test them?

Thanks Maj.Dundee. Your post made me aware of the extra fuses back there!
seat = fixed.
I doubt that has a connection to the radio/trip computer backlight. but cant quite tell in the day light.

thanks again!

Do you have the narrow radio or the large MCS one. The MCS one came out in 2000 through.

Mine is a single din unit. the only markings on the face are "sound by Bose" and " Dolby B NR"
btw- i noticed yesterday that the trip computer is not working at all anymore... so maybe the backlight not working on it is a moot point (:
- thanks for the reply!

yes- they appear to be fine.
i tested with a light, just to make sure.

10 is the 12v accy port, vanity lights in visors, glovebox... all illuminate
13 is instrument panel/ bank sensor. dash lights, except radio work
21 is radio/stereo system.

thanks for the reply and sticking with me!

I am not familiar with the single DIN radio, but I would assume that it has a replaceable bulb. If you have the radio code, pull it out and remove the face plate and take a look.

As for the Trip Computer, it's a know issue that the bulbs burn out but it is pretty difficult to replace them. Which one do you have?

Help

Maj. please help with my headlight issue in the previous post. I know you can help with your knowledge of the ML. Test the connector at the steering wheel, can't get the top cover to come all the way off but do have power to the light on the green connector wire.

thanks again Major. the trip computer is like the first (tan) one pictured. it's not a real need. I will search around for that bulb in the radio.
- your help is MUCH appreciated!
