Hood latch adjustment

I recently had some work done on my ML ('03 500) which involved disconnecting the under hood cable (hood release) connection. Now, when I pull the under dash hood release it has to be pulled as far as it will go & then some to release the hood. Prior to this all the under dash release needed was a little tug. Is there a way to adjust the under hood cable release? Thanks

Other than the cable, what else was removed for the repair?

Well... the fan, upper hose, the cooler or dryer (i guess) in front of the radiator, the medal support bean on top of radiator that has opening in it's center for hood latch. Maybe some other things too??
* The part replaced was the Harmonic Balancer & all related items that go along with the job.

Also, yesterday I was pulling on the under dash hood release and the parking brake release handle popped out, as if it were being pulled to disengage the parking brake. I pushed it back and it will not lock, remains in the pulled out position. Go figure.

Thanks,

OK, look at the top of the radiator support. On both sides you will see a very small hole (red dots). Below those holes are identical holes in the substructure.

These holes are "line-up holes". If they are not lined up you will have to loosen everything and use an awl to line the hole up.

Thank you and good luck with the snow headed your way. Sounds like this may be one for the record books.

I checked the support holes. The drivers side is lined up ok, almost perfect. The passanger side is off a bit. The instructions say "Loosen everything", I loosened the four 13mm bolts, that's all I could see that needed to be loosened for this task, is that everything? I was unable to move the support.

Thanks,

That is because you will have to remove both headlamps and loosen the lower two bolts on either side.

I'm taking it back to the shop that did the work. Let them line up holes. More of a hassle than I want to deal with right now.
