ML320 no power steer on left turn only
Hey, Help Wanted.
I have an ML320 W163 2000 model 320,000km.
Power steer rack was starting to leak on one end (not bad, just a damp mark on the boot). So considering the mileage, I decided to get it reconditioned. Reco unit came back & fitted it. Had some trouble bleeding the system, but after a couple of go's are it, it came good. After approximately 125km's I got no power assist on left hand turns only. The vehicle went back to the power steer specialist & they R&R & re - reco'd the rack. They claimed the centre seal on the rotating valve body in the rack, had twisted. No known reason. Ok all good, until another 120km's & same problem, no power steer on left turns only. Vehicle has been back to specialist 2 more times with the same symptom. The last time, the specialist claims they discovered the wrong seal was supplied in the reco kit. However we have the same issue again. Specialist is stumped & I have called other reco specialists & they have never experienced this issue.
Vehicle has recently had all new ball joints, control arm bushes, tie rod ends etc... nothing not replaced in the front end & all prior to the rack job, so there's no issue there. Also has had a new power steer pump reservoir & serpentine drive belt.
Vehicle is stock, apart from tyres, they are 275 70 16.
Apart from throwing this rack in the trash & starting again, can anyone help ?
Has anyone else had this issue. ?
thanks in advance.

Any time there is a problem with turning to one side it is always a rack issue.
Your mechanic is giving you a song and a dance with all these excuses and another brand of rack must be installed.
