W163 2002 Mirror Problem

Hello All,

I recently bought an ML 500 2002. I have the power folding mirrors. Recently after draining the battery, and recharging the Mirrors are not adjusting or folding. That is they are not broken, but rather work in "step mode". Repeatedly pressing the fold in or fold out buttons makes them world outwards or inwards in a step mode. Pressing the adjustments for mirrors works exactly the same in Step Mode. Has anyone ever seen this happen? any help greatly appreciated.

Did the folding mirrors work before the battery was drained?

How was the battery drained?

Do you have an owner's manual?

Stop pressing the buttons or else you might have more problems than you bargained for.

The battery - could have been disconnected - same result.
I have the manual Thank you.

Now is there anything that you know that may be helpful.

You are right, sorry let me then be real clear. If you are going to help someone then do so, otherwise asking a New Me,her if they have a a manual - where it is obvious that it's unrelated is point Rude, and obnoxious. 2. Telling them that they should stop pressing the button is also border line stupid.

Now I asked for help and received only a reply that is not helpful, not useful and simply rude.

Here from a New Member - IF YOU HAVE NOTHING OF USE, and really do not want to help then why ??? do you post ????

Maj. Dundee asked you 3 questions & made 1 statement. Correct reply to each of these questions would have brought you much closer to fixing your problem.
Do you really thing we have nothing better to do then to ask silly questions & post for no reason?????
You ask for help & you jump at the person who is willing & capable to help you. Who is rude now???

No it would have not - because we both know that the answer is not in the manual - that disconnecting the battery or discharging is equivalent and that telling someone to not press the button is nothing but waste of time. So no it would not! and you saying this simply shows that you have no interest in helping. I did nothing wrong, except replied in kind to someone who wants to be ignorant of others

The answer to that question is they become flustered with questions they believe have no bearing to their problem and then they become defensive.

Really? It certainly is, but now you will have to go it alone.
