Does the ML500 share the same brakes with any other w163?

Would brakes from a ml320 or ml430 fit?

Would ml55 brakes be an upgrade?

What do you mean by brakes?
Depending on the year of the 500, some 430 & some 55 brake pads will fit.

2003 ml500

I was wondering about pads and rotors.

ML500 brakes;

Front Rotor is:- (303mm dia.) & (26 thick.)
Rear Rotor is:- (285mm) & (15mm thick.)

*in some ML500 models, all brakes are the same with ML55, which is:-

Front Rotor is:- (345mm dia.) & (32 thick.)
Rear Rotor is:- (330mm) & (14mm thick.)

*it depend of your ML500 brakes spec...

Gotcha. What ml500 cars got larger brakes? Sport package?

Early 500, like mine takes the pre facelift 2000 & 2001 55 & 430 pads. It is the year, it has nothing to do with sport package.
Its tricky, your best bet is to compare samples.

Yeah, if your 500 comes with 303mm Rotor, then you can go with 345mm, from ML55, but you will need to change the L/R calipers as well..

Best thing to do is to leave the 500 brakes as they are.
