Other than checking all your fuses, how are we supposed how you wired this CD player.

Then you have to disconnect what you installed and see if things return.

The stock is tape deck with 3 slots pluged in the back but the harness that people sell only has two plus RCA's is that normal?

Remove your CD player & unplug the new harness & see if the remote & alarm are back.
Doesn't matter what people sell. You have to figure out if removing the harness fixes your problem. If it does fix your problem then the issue is with the new harness.

Try first & see if everything works. After that you can think of the new harness.

You know, people say they check all their fuses, but I don't believe them: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w163...l#post11393090

It's nothing personal.

The alarm and remote locking are both functions of the AAM.

Please tell us which of the following features are working or not working;
  • Central locking button on the center console (window switch group)
  • A/C fan
  • Windows auto up/down
  • Interior lights auto on/off (with door opening/closing)
  • Intermittent wipers

And the fob hasn't worked since? Are the batteries correctly oriented? Are the contacts clean and not corroded or fouled with battery fluid? Does the side contact make good contact with the top battery? What is the build date of your ML (mm/yy)? For early MY1998, the remote fob synch procedure is different.
